Diesel engine manufacturers are utilizing Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology to meet more stringent emissions regulations. These SCR systems use diesel exhaust fluid, better known as AdBlue®, injected into the exhaust stream to create a chemical composition that changes the exhaust into a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen.

TLX was awarded a production contract for this coolant control valve for use in a Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Reservoir System. The system thaws diesel exhaust fluid during freezing conditions.

Coolant temperature range: -40 to 110°C

Current draw: 2.5 amps max

Response time: < 1 sec

Maximum pressure: 500 kPa (73 psi)

Step 6 / Pre-Production

Working drawings are developed for production. A second prototype build and a set of production parts are made from tooling and thoroughly tested.

Step 7 / PPAP/Production

The final design along with the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) is developed and the new product enters production.
